Calculation of time
(1) A period of time referred to in the Corporations legislation, or an instrument made under the Corporations legislation, dating from a given day, act or event, is to be calculated exclusive of such day or of the day of such act or event. (2) Without limiting subsection (1), in calculating how many days a particular day, act or event is before or after another day, act or event: (a) the first‑mentioned day, or the day of the first‑mentioned act or event, is to be counted; and (b) the other day, or the day of the other act or event, is not to be counted. (3) If: (a) the Corporations legislation, or an instrument made under the Corporations legislation, requires or allows a thing to be done within a specified period; and (b) the last day of the period is not a business day in the place where the thing must or may be done; then the thing may instead be done on the next day that is a business day in that place.
