In this Part: data base means a discrete body of information stored by electronic means, containing: (a) indexes of persons who have provided personal identifiers in accordance with a requirement under this Act; and (b) their identifying information. destroy, in relation to identifying information, has the meaning given by subsection 336K(4). disclose, in relation to identifying information that is a personal identifier referred to in paragraph (a) of the definition of identifying information in this section, includes provide unauthorised access to the personal identifier. Note: Section 336D deals with authorised access to identifying information. identifying information means the following: (a) any personal identifier obtained by the Department for one or more of the purposes referred to in subsection 5A(3); (b) any meaningful identifier derived from any such personal identifier; (c) any record of a result of analysing any such personal identifier or any meaningful identifier derived from any such personal identifier; (d) any other information, derived from any such personal identifier, from any meaningful identifier derived from any such personal identifier or from any record of a kind referred to in paragraph (c), that could be used to discover a particular person’s identity or to get information about a particular person. permitted disclosure has the meaning given by subsections 336E(2) and (3). unauthorised impairment has the meaning given by section 336J. unauthorised modification has the meaning given by section 336J.
