Offence of using uninsured motor vehicle on road
(cf s 8 MACA) (1) A person who— (a) uses a motor vehicle that is not an insured motor vehicle on a road, or (b) causes or permits another person to use such a motor vehicle on a road, is guilty of an offence. (2) It is a defence to proceedings for an offence against this section if the defendant establishes that at the time the motor vehicle was used on the road the defendant had reasonable grounds for believing and did in fact believe that the motor vehicle was an insured motor vehicle.
