Insurers not to refuse insurance
(cf former s 18 (2)) (1) A licensed insurer shall not, except with the consent of the Authority, refuse to issue a policy of insurance to any employer or to renew a policy of insurance issued to an employer. (2) Without affecting the generality of subsection (1), the Authority may consent to any such refusal in order that the licensed insurer does not contravene any condition of the licence. (3) This section does not apply— (a) to a specialised insurer, or (b) in any case where the employer has not complied with any conditions prescribed by this Act or the regulations in respect of the issue or renewal of the policy of insurance. Maximum penalty—100 penalty units.
